New blog rule: if anyone puts anything blaming one group for another getting attacked, anything that calls for people to be hunted down or killed, that calls people freaks, unsourced blocklists, or anything that insinuates some people deserve harassment and abuse or any other related crap onto my dash you’re getting instablocked.

I’m fucking done with the hypocrisy and rampent ableism I’ve seen over the past few days, the amount of people who claim to support people with OCD and intrusive thoughts only to turn around and talk about how thoughts are actually indicative of morality, the amount of people who went from “unsourced call outs and blaming anything but abusers for their actions are both bad” to “okay but I find these people bad so here’s a blocklist with no sources just trust me, and also they are really the reason you’re being attacked its actually their fault”, the amount of people who think that actually ableism is okay when their side does it.

Like fuck off, I shouldn’t have to see a post where one side is called ‘the sane ones’ multiple times on my dash without a single fucking person saying “hey I agree with your point but maybe don’t be a raging ableist”.

And if anyone tries to drag me into incest discourse you’re getting blocked as well. Its an OCD trigger thats already difficult enough to deal with without the added bullshit I’ve seen the past few days, I don’t need to deal with more intrusive thoughts then this shit show has already brought up

TL:dr Saying someone other then the abuser is responsible for abuse is wrong, so are unsourced callouts, threats, and other forms of harassment. You can’t claim say one group is wrong to do it and then turn around and engage with it yourself. And if you can’t make your point without implying people disgreeing with you are 'insane’ as if that is a horrible thing, or other ableist nonsense, shut the fuck up

I know it tends to be regarded as kind of cringe or unhelpful but oh my god when cis people introduce themselves with their pronouns or write them down on a class project, an unbelievable burden gets lifted off my shoulders. It’s so so so helpful. Because I don’t have to be the one to say it first, I’m just following the trend. The precedent gets set for using the pronouns they list so when I show up and it doesn’t quite match that’s fine.

I don’t normally talk about being a “good ally” whatever the hell that means. But this is a good thing, more cis people should do this thing.

Just for clarity, they did not delete the movie. What they actually did was almost more of a dick move. They blocked the crew’s access to all footage from the movie, seemingly for fear that some (rightfully!) disgruntled crew member would attempt to download and leak the movie. The footage of the movie does still exist, it’s just locked away in WB’s vault so that nobody who wants to see it, including the directors of the movie, can look at it.

In the interview, the director also clarifies that the movie was not finished, a lot of the footage they had was raw, without VFX or or color-correction or score or proper sound effects, and not all of the scenes were finished being shot. They specifically talked about the Snyder Cut as an example of what would still need to happen in order for the movie to still be released: like the Snyder cut, the cast and crew would need to be allowed to come back and, essentially, finish the movie’s post production.

But, specifically, the Snyder Cut was mentioned for another important reason: “The Movie Was Deleted, The Footage No Longer Exists” says that there’s no point in demanding it from the company, since in that situation they can no longer provide it even if they wanted to. In the situation posited by the tweet above, Backlash is fully pointless, just shouting into the void. But “the footage was blocked and locked away from the crew” is shitty, but reversible. “Release The Snyder Cut” style pressure on WB actually stands an outside shot of working. So, keep up the vocal outrage up, and hopefully, eventually, WB will see that they’ll gain more money releasing it than they’ll save by shelving it.
